The Red Star Co-operative (RSC) is a company owned by the employees. The RSC publishes a weekly newspaper called the Red Star. It will close down as of the 10th of July 2008. Last issue ever, Issue 47 After growing discontent and disillusionment over the administration by the leaders after countless number of scandals including the Angus fiasco (leading to the General Secretary and Chief Commissar being dismissed), standing up for an oppressed student, financial mismanagement, and finally ASIC putting the League into receivership. The League leadership decided on the afternoon of the 24th to dissolve the Stalinist League and it’s trade union, the CPLSSU. Most Marxists in Warwick blame this on an alleged conspiracy between the Education Department and the Queensland Teachers’ Union. “The neo-Trotskyists that make up the Education Union were scared of our programme and policies. That is why they wanted to destroy the League. But they didn’t, ASIC did.” The League was formed in February 2003 by a group of students at Glennie Heights in Coburg Victoria over a dispute. It was formed as the Communist Club. Then it changed its name to the Communist Party of Glennie Heights. In 2006, it changed its name to the Communist Party of Warwick due to Queensland membership being bigger then Victoria’s. In March 2007, it changed its name to the Stalinist League of Australia. The League has been banned and declared illegal at many schools, universities, churches, councils, prisons etc. It has seen many splits, in fights, and battles. Through all of this, Comrade Murr’s and later Comrade Peter’s leadership as General Secretary was not challenged. But with outrage over the Angus Fiasco, the Central Committee dismissed Comrade Peter and then appointing comrade Matthew as General Secretary. Every thing for the League ended on the 25th when the leadership dissolved it as the assets were used by ASIC to pay the debt. Rest in Piece SLA. As for the Red Star, this will be the last issue forever. AVENGE THE SLA. DESTROY THE TROTSKYISTS. Since this is the last issue of the Red Star thanks to the neo-Trotskyist Teachers Union (Yes, we all know QTU is behind it) the Managing Director and the Journalists have decided to publish the text of the Soviet Anthem to end 5 years of hard work. United forever in friendship and labour, Our mighty republics will ever endure. The great Soviet Union will live through the ages. The dream of a people their fortress secure. CHORUS: Long live our Soviet Motherland, built by the people's mighty hand. Long live our People, united and free. Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire, Shining in glory for all men to see. Through days dark and stormy where Great Lenin led us Our eyes saw the bright sun of freedom above and Stalin our Leader with faith in the People, Inspired us to build up the land that we love. CHORUS: Long live our Soviet Motherland, built by the people's mighty hand. Long live our People, united and free. Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire, Shining in glory for all men to see. We fought for the future, destroyed the invader, and brought to our homeland the Laurels of Fame. Our glory will live in the memory of nations and all generations will honour her name. CHORUS: Long live our Soviet Motherland, built by the people's mighty hand. Long live our People, united and free. Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire, Shining in glory for all men to see. Last updated: 5:00pm 8th of July 2008.
